Will Car Insurance Really Help You in Your Time of Need

Have you or anyone you know ever been in a car accident without having car insurance? Even worse, maybe a fire broke out, the car got damaged by hail or even got stolen? According to http://southafricaonline.carinsurancecoverquotes.co.za there are a lot of people driving around without car insurance in countries like South Africa.

What I can tell you is that I have personally been a victim of car theft once - and that was after I decided I am a good driver and wouldn't need car insurance one day. I know, stupid right? Luckily it was an old car and and wasn't worth that much. But still, I had to go without a car for a couple of months before I could afford a new one.

After I got my new car I was quite cautious - I even got comprehensive car insurance that covered fire and theft as well. I can honestly say, it was the hardest bill I had to pay every month, as the price was quite high and that was all for the day something "might" happen.

Later that year I went on holiday with one of my friends. I parked my car at his home as we drove with his car from there. It wasn't in a garage or something and when we got back, it looked like a gholf ball as it was hit by the hail. To make a long story short, the amount it cost to fix the hail damage wasn't very low, but the insurance company paid for it all. That was the one month I didn't find it so difficult to pay the insurance bill.

To sum up, it is really hard to pay your insurance bills, mostly because you think you could've spend the money better somewhere else. The only time you are glad you got it is if something happens - and that may not even have been your fault. Thus, being cautious helps, but only sometimes - the other times it is someone elses or even mother natures fault. And these are the times you will be glad you are covered!
